⚠️ Content warning: This episode contains graphic historical descriptions of Roman crucifixion and is not suitable for children. Hey beautiful family, welcome back to From Slumber to Scripture—grab your coffee, open your NKJV Bible, and let’s sit together in this sacred space. Episode 30 is all heart: the empty tomb of Jesus, raw and real, no fluff, just truth that still takes my breath away. Picture this: Women—Mary Magdalene and the others—walk to the tomb in the early dawn, hearts heavy with grief, only to find the massive stone rolled away and the tomb empty. Angels appear and ask the question that echoes through history: “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here… He is risen!” (Luke 24:5-6 NKJV). Peter and John run there, see the linen cloths lying flat and the head cloth neatly folded by itself—no panic, no chaos, just quiet, deliberate order. Thieves don’t fold laundry. Roman guards? They were posted, the tomb sealed, and under Roman law losing the body meant execution—yet no corpse was ever produced, only a bribe to lie. That empty tomb stands unshaken. Then we go deeper: Where was Jesus those three days? Scripture doesn’t leave us guessing. He descended into the lower parts of the earth (Ephesians 4:9), preached to the spirits in prison (1 Peter 3:19), was in the heart of the earth like Jonah (Matthew 12:40), and His soul wasn’t left in Hades (Acts 2:27). He declared victory—not suffering more, but triumphing over death’s domain. “It is finished” was already spoken on the cross. I also bring in Lee Strobel’s The Case for Christ Chapter 12—where this former atheist journalist digs into the evidence and walks away convinced: women as first witnesses (culturally unreliable, so why invent it?), no body ever shown, disciples transformed from terrified to fearless martyrs. The empty tomb + appearances = a case that demands your verdict. If Jesus didn’t rise, our faith is empty (1 Corinthians 15:17 NKJV). But He did rise—and because He lives, we live too. This episode is an invitation: come see for yourself, believe, and let the risen King change everything. Grab your Bible, read John 20 with me today, and share this with someone who needs hope.
