This video is one of the first I made, originally planned for December 2nd, until I realized this drive was manufactured on December 10th, so I had to make that video go up on the drive's birthday! When I got this drive it had a dead PCB with a blown up spindle motor chip. I tried to replace the spindle motor chip but was not successfull. Worse is a PCB from another LA like a 22500 wouldn't work either. Then I tried to swap a chip with a WD sticker on it and some numbers that were different from the original PCB to the 22500's one, except I ripped off a ton of pads from the 22500 PCB, which I had to replace with many wires... But it actually worked! The drive surface also turned out to be in perfect health too! This drive sounds pretty nice and works great, so I'm glad I could save it. Those are much less common than a 22500. But don't worry for the 22500, after I did this I ended up getting another LA drive that was dead, and put that PCB on the 22500 bringing it back to life. But that 22500 has a lot of slow and bad sectors and I made it a clear covered drive, so it wasn't a big deal anyways. Interested by hard drives? Join my discord server! :)   / discord
