Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 6:50 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday! After the fog and the clouds cleared yesterday morning, we had a beautiful Tuesday. Yesterday, Baton Rouge had a morning low of 56 degrees and an afternoon high of 85 degrees. This morning is very warm and muggy. Temperatures are near 70 as we’re starting our Wednesday. A couple of isolated showers moved over parts of southeast Louisiana overnight (including Baton Rouge and the Northshore). Isolated showers will continue moving through parts of southeast Louisiana this morning, but there will be some spots that stay dry until later today since this is low rain coverage for now. Later today (during the afternoon and evening), scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi. The rain should end by tonight. Overnight lows will be in the 60s and patchy fog could develop again overnight. Thursday morning will also be mostly dry, but isolated showers will move through in the afternoon and evening. Rain chances will be a little higher on Friday and this weekend. There’s still some uncertainty on whether a frontal system will move through our area this weekend, but enough moisture will still be surging again to produce rainfall over our area. This will be needed because of our current drought conditions. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be on and off in our area this weekend so keep that in mind if you have any outdoor weekend plans. Isolated showers could start Saturday morning and then rain coverage will increase for Saturday afternoon and evening. There will be a similar setup for Sunday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into Monday. Severe weather doesn’t appear to be an issue, but there is still a chance to have a couple of stronger t-storms passing through this weekend. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will still be in the forecast for the first half of next week. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
