Tuba Tune, C.S Lang - Ripon Cathedral

Two weeks ago I was given permission to play the voluntary for Sunday evensong at Ripon Cathedral which is always a very fun experience! I’m this recording you can hear the huge tromba on the great all most all the way through, which is pretty much a solo Reed, not a chorus Reed. Then, at the De Capo I switch to using the much larger solo tuba which is much brighter and has a bit more presence than the great tromba. Finally on the last note I add the 32ft Bombardon which is really just for a bit of fun as in the quire (where it was recorded) the 32ft designates everything in its path! I do realise that the speed is slightly slower than what you might normally have heard it as so I’m sorry about that, but I do feel like when it’s a slightly slower it has a more stately/majestic feel to it - that’s my opinion anyway! I’m also sorry about the orientation of the video being portrait and not landscape, it was just the way my dad recorded it. I hope you enjoy listening and have a good Friday everyone!
