Hike in the spring of 2022 (12 April) from la Chapelle-d’Abondance to Pointe de la Bosse (1,946 m), within the Zone Naturelle Protégée des Cornettes de Bise (department Haute Savoie – region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes). We wanted to make a loop hike over Pas de la Bosse, around Pointe de la Bosse, Chalet de la Combe au Trot and Chalets de Mens, but there was still quite a lot of snow above 1,600 m (from Chalets de la Cheneau onwards). Therefore, we had to leave the trail. The last 100 m altimeters towards Pointe de la Boss were not accessible without snowshoes. We therefore decided to make a steep 'off trail' climb on the southern flank straight towards the top of Pointe de la Bosse. The final five meters appeared to be very dangerous because of a slippery thin snow layer on the steep grass flanks. Despite this little setback, we still had a very beautiful view on the surrounding mountains such as La Tour (2,288 m), Mont Chauffé (2,093 m), Dent du Chat (1,936 m), Pointe de Lachau (1,960 m), etc., and even up to the Mont Blanc (4,810 m) in the far south. ABOUT US - We are a Belgian family with three kids (Kyllian °2009, Iluna °2012, Jaylinn °2015). Since 2015, we are hiking intensively and bring our children into contact with many unique regions and make them aware of the fragility of nature, which we should all cherish. From the summer of 2021 onwards, during our holiday in Slovakia, we started to make short video recordings during our hiking trips to make our memories more tangible. After we compiled the videos, we decided to share those amazing and unique places with all of you, and group them under the heading 'HIKES IN EUROPE'. We hope that watching our videos can inspire you, give you a moment of joy or can give you inspiration for your own holidays.
