In this tutorial, I show you how to make Future Pop intros and how to make them sound professional. You will not believe how easy it is! TIMECODES 0:00 Intro 0:36 Structure 1:46 Foley 2:44 Drums 3:49 Bass 4:23 Backing Vocals 7:36 Automation 8:56 Risers Structure Future Pop intro structure could not be easier. The same rules apply for future bass too. I like to start with an 8 beat intro, 16 beat verse, and a 16 beat build. Foley If you have never used foley before then I highly suggest you start doing so. It can completely change your song and add so much more depth and dynamics just from a few layers of foley. Drums In a future pop intro its a good idea to use chilled and subtle drum samples. This creates a nice contrast for when the drop hits so the drop will feel HUGE! Bass Some people like to use sub-bass in their future pop intro, but I chose to use a Reece bass in this song as I feel it added some nicer mid-range harmonics. Backing Vocals This tip is number uno on the 'LIT' scale. Backing vocals alone can transform a song from crappy to profesh. You can try using 1 shots in the same key, or duplicating your main vocal and processing it differently. Automation Automation is a great way to make subtle changes over time so the listener will remain interested. Try automating volume, pitch, and filter cutoffs. Risers Last but not least we have Risers. Risers are important in any genre so make sure to pick the right one that fits with your track. once again if you use something subtle in the future pop intro, when the drop hits there will be a lot more energy.
