Dewberry COO Dan Pleasant defines client management and explains how Dewberry provides the structure and culture from which our professionals can build successful client relationships. Transcript: Client management. My definition of client management is owning that relationship, "owning" I put the emphasis on, owning the relationship with that client and leveraging that relationship to the mutual benefit of the client and Dewberry. I like to think of Dewberry as an organization that provides the structure and the culture within which we operate to serve our clients. What I have observed is that our most highly successful client managers, and we have many of them in this firm, but I can tell you without exception they all have passion for what they’re doing and for the service to their clients. If you show passion in dealing with your client, if you show passion about embracing their problems, if you show passion about bringing them creative solutions, it shines through with that client. They feel it, it’s emotional. What I enjoy most about my role as chief operating officer, other than the people I work with everyday which I thoroughly enjoy, is developing relationships with employees. I also have the opportunity to develop relationships with some of our most important clients and that is very rewarding. In fact, I am the client manager for a handful of clients, so it’s nothing I enjoy more than visiting with those clients, understanding their business, helping them leverage Dewberry better into their business so they can be more successful.
