BPD and the Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG) are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. The preliminary investigation revealed that on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a 911 call for a check on welfare and a second 911 call for a woman attempting to stab the caller at a home in the 2700 block of Mosher Street. The officers entered the home and encountered the sole occupant of the house, an adult woman, holding a knife, and she appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis. Officers issued multiple verbal commands instructing the woman to drop the weapon, but the woman did not comply. One officer deployed a Taser. The woman immediately stood up after the Taser deployment, the officer began to retreat, tripped over a piece of furniture, and fell to the ground. The woman then quickly advanced toward the officer on the ground while still armed with the knife. At this point, a second officer discharged their firearm, which struck the woman, and a third officer deployed their Taser. Officers rendered aid to the woman until emergency medical services arrived and took over care. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. One officer, who was injured during the incident, was taken to a local hospital, treated, and subsequently released. Read more information here: https://www.marylandattorneygeneral.g...
