Here is their Discography: https://www.discogs.com/artist/588711... and Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_G... The 2022 Shipwright’s Regatta was originally scheduled for February 26th but due to a gale in the bay, was postponed to March 26th. Typical of a Port Townsend regatta day, the wind started light and picked up. Starting with us was another PT 11 sailed by Matt McCleary and Jody Boyle. Somewhere in the second lap, as the wind and chop picked up, we lost Matt and Jody to the marina and no doubt, lunch in a warm restaurant. Russell and I persevered and for the first time in all the years we have been the smallest boat in this event, we did not come in last! We actually placed 4th in our "class" and I credit that to the other skippers having simply too much fun. Dinghy sailing in our cold waters means we normally wear drysuits, but a friend loaned us a pair of cruiser suits which are like a full body life preserver. They were comfortable if not a little bulky and they kept us very warm...but we did get very salty. When we desalinated these suits at home, they were so heavy with water that it took the two of us to get them hung on the line. They hung outside for 3 days and another 4 inside before we could consider them dry. We concluded that these suits are best used on larger boats and long passages but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to try them out. I want to thank Crystal Craig for getting a record number of photos of us, ( https://www.crystalcraigphotography.com/ ) and Matt Mc Cleary for making it out in his PT 11. I’d love to see lots of our boats at the September 9-11 Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. Woodenboat.org. Usually, on Saturday the 10th, there is an “under 23ft regatta”.
