The Super Cup was the perfect occasion to experience this rivalry, in a rare match with supporters from both sides present in the stadium, something that hasn’t happened often in Algeria in recent years. Even though kick-off was at 17:00, the atmosphere around the stadium was already tense hours before the game. Heavy security, multiple checkpoints, slow movement, and strict controls. I entered the stadium almost four hours before kick-off, and the stands were already full, singing loudly and nonstop. USM Alger opened with impressive choreographies, while MC Alger’s pyrotechnic displays pushed the atmosphere to another level.
