Sadistic Stepfather Tortures 8 Year Old - Surgery On Knees Required To Remove Buckwheat An eight-year-old boy had to have buckwheat surgically removed from his knees after his 'sadistic' stepfather routinely forced him to kneel on a pile of grain seeds in Russia. Sergey Kazakov, 35, punished the boy for coming home late by making him kneel for nine hours at a time, leading grain seeds to take root in his bloodied knees. The embedded crop, had to be surgically removed under general anaesthetic and thus removed large portions of skin in the process at a hospital in Omsk in Russia The surgery and weeks of painful rehabilitation, however, were nothing compared to what the starved kid had to endure at home, where he lived with his mom, Alina Yumasheva, 27, and a boyfriend she met online. At some point, the prospective stepdad decided that the child was getting out of hand and needed discipline, but the method he apparently found online resembled medieval torture. Whenever the boy was late home from school or misbehaved in any other way, he was made to kneel on a bag of buckwheat. A single punishment session could last for nine consecutive hours, with Kazakov using a webcam to keep an eye on the boy. This footage has now become evidence in a criminal case, as they also captured him kicking the crying child and pulling his hair. The boy's mother approved the punishment, and did nothing to protect her son. She stated that she once tried this harsh but “effective” punishment and didn’t feel any pain, but obviously hadn't knelt on buckwheat for nine hours straight. The child was hardly a troublemaker – studying hard, never skipping lessons and voluntarily taking part in extracurricular activities – but he was too scared to tell anyone of the abuse, his teacher believes. The boy's ordeal came to light when he fled the family country home after another bout of harsh punishment and pleaded with a female neighbour to help. She called in doctors because of the horrific wounds on the child's knees from which blood was flowing. Kazakov, a computer programming entrepreneur, and Yumasheva are now facing trial in Omsk. The couple are under investigation for torture, causing damage to the boy's health, and failure to properly educate the boy. They face up to 7 years prison if convicted. UPDATE: 24/02/2020 Yumasheva was sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison, while Kazakov, who was the mastermind behind the torture, was jailed for four-and-a-half. Denis, who had been living with his mother until her trial, is now at an orphanage and may be up for adoption after various families saw his plight in the media and offered to take him in.
