Marshall Strabala, "Movements in The Worlds Tallest Double Skin Building" The Shanghai Tower: the world's tallest double skin building creates a challenge that needs to accommodate an unprecedented amount of movement. This presentation will be on the perceived movement of the tower and the actual impacts of real movement on the two facades. The exterior wall is attached to a supporting steel structure of triangular rings hanging up to fifteen stories, and up to 12m from the inner skin. These movements are the concentrated at the amenity floors, to achieve a very efficient and unique structural system.
