This is the shocking moment a man said to be on amphetamines stops a bus on a slip road to a motorway and tears off a windscreen wiper to smash in the windows before attacking the rest of the vehicle. The incident was filmed by a bus passenger in the southern tourist Croatian town of Solin near the popular hotspot island of Split before it was shared online where it has been viewed 337,000 times on Facebook and 85,000 times on YouTube. According to local media, the 29-year-old unnamed man, who has a history of drug problems, stopped the bus on the street and began to smash it up for no reason. Video footage shows him breaking the windows with the large windscreen wiper while other passengers are still inside the bus before repeatedly kicking the engine. After vandalising the vehicle, the suspect reportedly entered the bus and sat on the driver's seat. Meanwhile, the unnamed driver told local media: “I noticed that he was not aggressive towards me and that he seemed to be unaware of what he was doing. “In the end, I opened the doors so that the other passengers could get out.” After trying to escape from the police, he was reportedly arrested and taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. According to local media, the 29-year-old was under the influence of amphetamines which he took at a party. Reports also said that the man has had drug problems for over five years and was recently detained for 15 days for trying to break into his parent’s home. Nobody was injured during the bus attack, but the driver has reportedly signed off sick due to the stress he suffered. The director of the bus company Miroslav Delic said: “The damage he caused is around 10,000 EUR (8,580 GBP).
