This video demonstrates a quality problem with Aune S17 Pro EVO headphone amp. I purchased the Aune S17 Pro EVO Headphone Amp on December 20, 2024, and I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue with the unit since the beginning. The problem occurs when the unit is in A-H mode (a high-current class A mode) and the temperature stabilizes at around 57/58 degrees Celsius. The unit completely loses its responsiveness. The volume/multifunction knob, remote control, and other features cease to function. The only solution is to turn off the unit.The issue persists even after the unit is restarted. This problem repeats itself after the temperature has stabilized again. I’m using Meze Audio Lyric II headphones with a high gain setting and balanced input from a balanced DAC.It’s important to note that the unit has never automatically switched to A-L class power mode. The issue did not occur during the winter months, likely because the room temperature stayed below 21°C. However, on the first warm day of spring, when the temperature rose to around 22°C, the unit became unresponsive again after operating for a few hours. I’ve also observed another unusual behavior with the S17: its internal temperature increases—reaching up to 62°C—when using certain headphone cables, such as the Meze Audio Liric II 4.4mm balanced OCC cable. Might be cable impedance issue.
