Now, let's quickly unpack a couple of things after yesterday's video: I fully understand what a pride takeover is, very well. Its when "UNKNOWN" male lions try and take over an existing pride. The Gomondwane Males in their prime, however, have two prides, maybe even more they control. The Vurhami lion pride and the Hippo pools lion pride. So if Zaza and his lions(the sons of the Gomondwane male lions) approach the Hippo pools pride(unknown to them completely), what does that mean???????????? A "POTENTIAL" pride takeover. An "ATTEMPT" to (Fail or succeed). The Hippo pools females are currently in heat so anyone who knows lions and lion dynamics even slightly, will know that the Gomondwane Male Lions will not let ANYONE near those females, not even their own sons. Not a discussion, a point. The Gomondwane Males are 6 in total. 3 of which control the Kruger National Park side, and 3 more, stuck in the Shishangeni area (which is a private concession, and they are VERY rarely seen, if ever). Territory dispute, pride takeover, lions fighting, Pride dispute or Pride split, the fact still is, that the Vurhami young males, will not be welcomed in the Hippo Pools area. Period. Obviously at some stage, Gomondwane males will chase off Zaza and the Vurhami young males, possibly, that I too know very well. That is what was meant by yesterday's video about a "POSSIBLE" territory war starting, because that is exactly what it is. The Vurhami young males, are not welcome in Hippo Pools territory, because of females and mating rights. Period. To all the "LION EXPERTS" Enjoy analyzing the video!
