Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi Leads Royal Valentine Outreach to Newborns in Abia State

For the Abia State chapter of the HAI valentine bay day, newborn babies received special Valentine care at the General Hospital, Aba; Abia State Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Aba; Abia State Specialist Hospital, Umuahia; and the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), Ahiaeke, Umuahia. Her Regal Majesty, Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, who represented the Ooni of Ife, led the outreach in the state alongside Oba Fayemi Johnson, the Elerefe of Efe Kingdom. They were joined by the First Lady of Abia State, Priscilla Otti, who attended with key government officials, including the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Ifewyinwa Blossom Uma-Kalu; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Vulnerable Groups and Poverty Alleviation, Ifeoma Thomas. Newborn babies from day one to ten were presented with bags filled with essential baby items, including Dr Brown’s baby wipes, feeding bottles, baby body wash and shampoo, sanitary towels, baby oil, baby powder, baby Vaseline, cotton buds, diapers, sponges, baby towels, socks, cups, flannels, baby clothes, bibs, bowls, and underwear—neatly packaged in fancy diaper bags to support mothers as they begin postnatal life. Speaking on why Abia State was selected for Hopes Alive Initiative’s Valentine Day Outreach, Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi stated that the achievements of the Abia State Government under Alex Otti in advancing human development cannot be overemphasised. She described Abia as a holistic state and noted that she was deeply touched by the Governor’s intentional and empathetic leadership, marked by significant investment in the welfare of the people.
