The Main Reason Why Your Business Isn't Found On Google Maps The most common reason why your business isn’t showing up on Google Maps is because your business lacks location authority. If your GMB listing lacks location authority, you will have to be in close proximity or standing directly at your business location to appear in Google Maps. Although location authority is the most common reason we see as to why businesses aren’t found on Google Maps, there are several other reasons that may be causing this issue for your business location, such as: Your GMB Isn't Verified You are lacking Location Authority Your Google My Business listing got suspended You've relocated your business and never updated your address ** NOTE: Location Authority is our patent pending strategy to increase your presence and rankings in Google Maps at an increasingly wider radius around your main business location. Basically, the more location authority your Google My Business listing has, the higher you'll rank at a wider radius out from your main location. There are, of course, more than just 4 possible reasons as to why your business isn't showing up on Google Maps. But the reasons I describe in this video are the most common that we see here at Bipper Media. And of the 4 reasons mentioned in the video, the most common reason is simply a lack of Location Authority. This is because most businesses with a verified Google My Business listing have never taken the steps to optimization (Local SEO) their GMB listing. This is especially true in hyper competitive markets, but you sometimes need to go above and beyond the basics of just verifying your Google My Business listing. If all you do is verify your GMB and then don't ever take additional steps, then your business will be lacking location authority it needs to compete in Google local search and Google Maps. So for example, if you have to literally be standing in your place of business to see your business appear in Google Maps search results, then you have no location authority. However, if you are 10 miles away from your business and you see your business in Google Maps... especially for hyper competitive keyword phrases... then your business would be considered to have a lot of location authority. And if this is the case with your business, then you are probably also experiencing exponential growth in your business.
