Making a bucket completely from wood – without glue or metal

Make a waterproof bucket entirely from wood. No glue. No metal. You can see the whole making process, with many details, in this video. I do most of the work by hand. Special attention is paid to the horizontal wooden rings that hold the whole bucket together. The production of the groove plane for the bottom is also shown briefly in the video, as you can hardly buy these any more. Building a wooden bucket only out of wood was new territory for me. Before I started filming, I made some prototypes of the horizontal wooden rings. I got the best results with forest fresh ash. The staves and bottom are made of dry silver fir (no resin galls). The outer dimensions of the bucket: diameter at the bottom 30cm, diameter at the top 35cm, height to the top of the bucket 40cm, total height 60cm. Wall thickness approx. 1,8cm. Capacity approx. 30 litres.
