New South Wales AMA President Dr Danielle McMullen says the jump in new cases at the growing COVID-19 cluster in Sydney’s Northern Beaches is a testament to the community’s willingness to act on health advice. It comes amid news the COVID-19 outbreak on Sydney's Northern Beaches has grown to 17 cases, with residents being advised to follow a number of public health measures for the next three days in a bid to stem the spread of the virus. “The first thing to do is to congratulate the Northern Beaches community on coming out and getting tested,” Dr McMullen told Sky News host Chris Smith. “They’ve really responded well to that public health call … that’s the only reason we’ve seen so many numbers today. “The queues today for the testing centres were a testament to that community’s willingness to engage in this process.”
