The Fort Garry Hotel is a historic hotel in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, that opened for the first time on December 11, 1913. It is one of Canada's grand railway hotels and was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981.[A national heritage park connected to the hotel and to the remains of Upper Fort Garry was completed in 2017-18. Mike and I had a chance to stay at the hotel by taking advantage of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce rebate where you get $100 back. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, the bed was comfortable and the food at the Oval room was fantastic! The hotel itself doesn't have a swimming pool but there was a pool in the adjoining building that you could access if you would like to go for a swim. Because the Assiniboine Athletic Club is not affiliated with the hotel, the guests must pay a drop in fee at the front desk there in the amount of $5 per person. Ensure to have cash when you visit the pool. Overall, our staycation was wonderful and I look forward to stay at the Hotel Fort Gary soon!
