The Dark Island is a scottish tune which came hugely popular by a magical accordion-player Iain McLachlan. He was also known as a pipe-, fiddle- and melodeonplayer. The tune was composed 1958 and original name is Dr. Mackay's Farewell to Greagorry. The tune was used as the theme music for the BBC TV series "The Dark Island". It is written 1963 and published by Westminister music. Lyrics here are by David Silver. Here the cover of this lovely song is sung by a Finnish folksinger Jari Sirniö, Facebook: Trubaduuri Jarie. The video is filmed on one of the southmost islands ( Kökar) of Finland by the Gulf of Finland. The distant cliffs of the video are called Grönviken (in swedish). Jarie is a trubadur and member of a celtic-såirit kilt-band called Isara (Facebook: Isara)
