This is our sideline tackle drill that we do to teach the defenders to maintain a proper relationship to the RB while using the sideline to help make the play. Many youth defenders over run the RB allowing for cutbacks in a game. Be sure that the defender keeps his outside hip/should even with the RBs inside Hip/shoulder as he pursues towards the sidelines. If the Rb tries to cutback there should be a solid tackle, if he tries to beat the defender around the corner there should be a push or tackle out of bounds.
