Albacete is a city and municipality in the Spanish autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha and the capital of the province of Albacete. The population is around 173,000 citizens. Albacete is a lovely city. See the video and if you like it visit it by yourself. There are many places to visit. See a list of popular ones. 1. Pasaje de Lodares - This pedestrian walkway is only a block long but is architecturally stunning. The pillars and especially the glass and metal roof are amazing. Shops are located on either side. The small iron balconies add to the ambience. Can be seen in this video. 2. Museo Municipal de la Cuchillería - The building itself is stunning and inside there are a lot of gorgeous creations to see. I was impressed. It is located next to the cathedral. Can be seen in this video. 3. Catedral de Albacete San Juan Bautista - The cathedral is beautiful and has a spectacular painting on the inside. Can be seen in this video. 4. Feria de Albacete - Albacete’s fair is fun for everyone and for all ages. The fireworks on the first day were spectacular with music, and live concerts. It is an excellent place next to Plaza de Toros de Albacete, 500 to 700 meters away. It is also located next to beautiful gardens and near the Paseo de la Feria which is also worth visiting. 5. Plaza de Toros de Albacete - The Albacete bullring is one of the most beautiful bullfighting venues in Spain, the scene of one of the most important fairs of the bullfighting calendar. Albacete has always been a land of bulls but, above all, of bullfighters. names such as Manolo Navarro, Pedrés, Montero, Chicuelo II, Cabañero, Abelardo Vergara, Pepe Osuna, Manolo Amador, Sebastián Cortés, Dámaso González and Manuel Caballero stand out. Can be seen in this video. 6. Museo de Albacete - Housed in a building inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and nestled in Albacete's largest city park this is a museum that could easily be missed during your visit to the provincial capital. It displays some of the finest archaeological treasures on this side of Spain. From Roman dolls, thousands of years old to ancient gold coins found buried in the soil anyone who loves history or quiet architectural spaces will love a visit to this museum. Hint: call ahead to reserve the guided tour especially if you have children. They will love it and so will you (if you can understand Spanish that is). The province of Albacete is a source of vast archaeological treasures, the finest of which are to be found in the national archaeological museum in Madrid but the Albacete museum manages to hold its own in that respect as well. Can be seen in this video. 7. Parque de Abelardo Sanchez is located next to Museo de Albacete in the central part of Albacete. Can be seen in this video. 8. Jardin Botanico de Castilla-La Mancha - Great variety of plants and landscapes. Good attention. Natural remedies and advice to heal and improve health. Occasional interesting activities such as learning to do a handmade soap. The place is away from downtown. Use a car or public transport to go there. Can be seen in this video. 9. Also worth visiting Parque de la Pulgosa, Museo del Niño. 10. There are many restaurants and coffee shops in Albacete. As a food experience, I would suggest visiting La Bodega de Serapio, an old wine cellar in the full centre of Albacete that opened its doors more than one century. At present, and after a careful restoration, Serapio's wine cellar opens its doors. 11. If you are interested in shopping there are a few malls in Albacete and the downtown area is full of shops. I saw one of the malls in the central part. If you know other places worth visiting in Albacete please add them in the comments below this video. Enjoy Albacete.
