Flat Metal Roof the proper way...

Throwback Thursday to a project we did in March! A traditional double lock standing seam flat roof. 26 gauge galvalume with a textured SMP finish. All the seams are sealant backed for good measure. This client wanted a bullet proof detail at the roof to wall transition. Ladies and Gentlemen we give you the chased seam technique at the wall and double locked scallops at the eave. This is a very traditional detail to the city of Cincinnati. We see this detail often on 100+ year-old roofs. This fold sequence lays the seam down at the wall. The result is the double lock seam continues through that transition up the wall uninterrupted. Not only is this a superior water tight design, it also allows for a flat profile against the wall for the counter flashing. Lastly the counter flashing was tuck pointed using mortar original to the house. This was very important to our client. We're very proud of this accomplishment!
