Avios Mig-17 with Kolibri Turbine power. This provides takeoff weight of 3.6kg, same as the 6S EDF, landing at about 3kg which makes it very light. It makes power equal to a HOT 12S setup. 12min flight times on 800cc of diesel. This video is using a T35. 95% of my foam planes use the smaller can engine to get the weight down by a lot. Going T50/K30/X45 makes the setup MUCH heavier. I estimate atleast 700grams more. My rule of thumb calculating with weight and making a reference to the equal EDF setup. T35 = 12S EDF T25=10S EDF T15=8S EDF K30=10S K45G3=12S X45=12S Also remember if the turbine makes 4kg of thrust that equals a 8kg thrust EDF setup. Sounds weird but I prove it time after time. As a reference the stock EDF probably makes the same thrust as my T35, but it simply does not howl the plane like this. ....and most flying is at very little throttle. I never use above 50% unless going straight up. Airframe is 100% stock with stock servos. Only made sure to have the Tx at maximun and adjusting the links towards the inner holes on the servo arm.
