New Judge Won't Recuse DAs Love & Hylton: Young Thug YSL Update w/ Meghann

The new judge in the Young Thug / YSL trial, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, issued her order today denying Brian Steel's motion to recuse the prosecutors. Steel's motion argued Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love and Deputy District Attorney Simone Hylton must leave the case because he plans to call them as witnesses to question them about their June 10 ex parte meeting with key witness Kenneth "Woody" Copeland. Judge Whitaker said Steel doesn't need to call them as witnesses and can get what he needs by questioning Copeland about the meeting transcript. Also today (Thursday, Aug. 1), Steel filed a jury instruction he wants Judge Whitaker to read about the recusal of Judge Ural Glanville that tells the jury to disregard any disparaging remarks he may have made about defense counsel.
