Sarah and Guillaume Glantenay are a dynamic brother and sister team who took over from their father, Pierre, in the 2013 vintage. Guillaume makes the wines, whilst Sarah runs all other aspects of the domaine. Sat within the acclaimed village of Volnay, in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, this family-owned domaine encompasses ten hectares of vines spread over Volnay, Pommard, Chambolle-Musigny, Monthélie and Meursault. Using lutte raisonée viticultural practices, which involve ploughing and avoiding pesticides or herbicides in the vineyards, the siblings pay homage to traditional methods whilst carefully preserving sustainability. Tracing its roots to the 17th century, the domaine was established by Pierre Glantenay, who later entrusted it to his son, Georges. The Chambolle holdings were passed down from Sarah and Guillaume’s grandmother. Today, representing the fifth generation, Sarah and Guillaume have recently acquired 0.2ha in Pommard Les Cras, which now goes into the Pommard village bottling.
