Join me as I dive into a 3-day 2-night stopover in this captivating coastal city! 🚅🍱 Starting off from Sapporo, I hop on a picturesque train ride and indulge in the famous Eki-ben (station bento), treating myself to the exquisite flavors of Hokkaido as I journey towards Hakodate. 🍖🔥 For the first meal in town, my senses are immediately tantalized by the aroma of sizzling Genghis Khan lamb BBQ—a local delicacy that I simply can't resist! Join me as I feast on this mouthwatering specialty and experience the culinary wonders of Hakodate. 🦐🍇 But the adventure doesn't stop there! I also take you on a stroll through the lively Hakodate Morning Market, where I sample an array of fresh seafood, seasonal fruits, and other delectable treats, all while soaking in the bustling atmosphere of this vibrant marketplace. 🦑🔪 There I encountered a scene that, I must admit, was quite disturbing for me — a live squid cutting demonstration. While it's an integral part of the local seafood culture, I found it difficult to watch and understand even though I got it on tape.
