What happens when a small window of opportunity appears? Do you seize the moment. Sometimes we talk ourselves into a watered down version of what we really want out of life. Why do we allow ourselves to stray away from our passions? How does a great idea get broken into bits? I don't have the answers to these questions. Perhaps no one knows the truth. What I do know is if you stick to your instincts, those initial exciting visions of glory, you will find "the happy". This happened recently to me. I saw a warm February day coming up in 2 days. They called off the rain. I have been dreaming of an overnight Moto-camp for several months. The trick was I had to find someone to cover my mail route, I had to pack everything in a couple hours before bed, and I had to work fast the next day to get off early enough to get a couple hundred miles away from the hustle and bustle. Could I have taken a shorter trip? Of course. Could I have not camped and just rode all day on my day off? of course. Did both of things about talk me out of what I really wanted to do? That is for certain! But I stuck to the plan. I powered through. I kept those thoughts of "an easy day" at bay. I chose to LIVE! I found "the happy" and I regret nothing.
