Step-by-Step Tutorial: Crafting Seminole Moccasins

Making authentic moccasins is a fun and relatively simple project. In this video I break down my process for making a pair of center seam Seminole style moccasins. Darry Wood wrote an article in the Bulletin of Primitive Technology (Spring 2000) where he chronicled his experience learning to make moccasins from Billy Bowlegs, a living relic of Seminole and southeastern native culture. I use Wood's article and the 1799 descriptions of Isaac Weld to attempt and reproduce this unique historic footwear. Thanks as always to D.
