Hello and welcome to my travel vlog! 🌍✨ In this episode, I’m taking you on an unforgettable journey to the magnificent Golconda Fort, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. This historic marvel is over 1,100 years old, built on a granite hill, and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. 💎 Golconda Fort – The Land of Legendary Diamonds! Golconda Fort is world-famous for being the source of some of the most magnificent and big-sized diamonds, including the Kohinoor (Koh-e-Noor) diamond. It was once the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and played a crucial role in shaping the history of Hyderabad. 🚶‍♂️ Starting Our Journey! To explore this iconic landmark, I was accompanied by my cousin Mohit. We reached Golconda Fort early in the morning by local bus from Afzalganj. 🎟 After purchasing our entry tickets, we entered through the Bala Hisar Gate, where we got to experience one of the fort’s most fascinating security features – the acoustic system! This unique design allowed guards to communicate across long distances just by clapping at specific points in the fort. 🏋️‍♂️ The 250 Kg Weight Challenge! One of the most interesting things we saw was a 250 kg stone weight, which was used to test the strength of bodyguards and soldiers in ancient times. 💪 Fun Fact: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan tried lifting this weight while filming two of his movies here but couldn’t succeed! 🛍️ Nageena Bazaar – The Ancient Diamond Market! As we walked deeper into the fort, we explored Nageena Bazaar, which was once a bustling market for diamonds, precious stones, and jewelry. This was the place where some of the world’s most famous diamonds were once traded! ⚔️ The Three-Story Armory & Historic Offices We also saw the three-story armory of Golconda Fort and passed by the office of Akkanna and Madanna, two influential ministers of the Quli Qutub dynasty. ⛰️ Climbing to the Top of Golconda Fort! To reach the top of the fort, there are three different routes, and we decided to take the public route. 🏞️ On the way up, we saw four water tanks, which were essential for storing water within the fort. 🏰 Ramdas Jail – A Story of Devotion! One of the most fascinating parts of our journey was visiting Ramdas Jail. This is where the ruler imprisoned his treasurer, Ramdas, for 12 years! The legend behind his captivity is truly intriguing, but to hear the full story, you’ll have to watch the entire vlog! 🎥😉 🕌 Temples & Mosques Inside Golconda Fort As we continued, we explored two ancient places of worship within the fort: 🕌 Ibrahim Mosque – A historic mosque built in classic Islamic architectural style. 🙏 Kaali Temple – An ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Kaali. 🏛️ Reaching the Highest Point – Deewan-E-Aam & Deewan-E-Khaas Finally, we arrived at Deewan-E-Aam (Hall of Public Audience) and Deewan-E-Khaas (Hall of Private Audience). These halls were used for special meetings and public gatherings by the rulers. The rooftop darbar offered breathtaking views of: 🎖️ The Army Area 💃 The palaces of royal dancers, Premamati & Taramati 🏰 Rani Mahal (Queen’s Palace), where the kings and queens once resided 👑 Exploring Rani Mahal – The Royal Guest Pathway! To reach the Rani Mahal, we took the Guest’s Way, which was an exclusive route used only by the royals and their guests. Though the Rani Mahal is now in ruins, it still holds an aura of grandeur and history. Walking through its remains felt like stepping back in time! 🎥 That’s a Wrap on Golconda Fort! Visiting Golconda Fort was a breathtaking experience, filled with rich history, stunning architecture, and fascinating stories. Every part of the fort has a unique tale to tell!
