You can find old drawings of it in Ray Allen catalogs from the 60s and 70s. What's even more impressive, the product is still made to the same specifications for the past (as Matt says) "bazillion" years. Built from North American cattle, with thicker hides and tighter grain, the 12/14 ounce leather can withstand the test of time. This harness has held its unique NSN (national stock number) for a very long time. The traditional “Y” shape padded chest plate design is stitched and riveted together, for lasting durability and comfort for the dog. What really separates this leather tracking harness from many others is the processing of the rawhide leather - which is soaked and molded to the back “D” ring, the focal point which brings each leather component together, to prevent unnecessary wear of the leather at the conjunction point. This is a staple harness for many working dog professionals, even at the highest level, as seen in posts by @K9hurricane. The secret service has long trusted this harness for their service dogs and still uses it to this day.
