Join me for a tasting of Hudson Whiskey New York 7 Year Calvados Cask Finish Rye—fair warning, I'm about 8 pours deep at this point and maybe a little drunk, but trust me, this one is absolutely delicious! Aged 3.5 years in traditional barrels then finished in Calvados casks for another 3.5 years, it's like toffee apple in a glass with brown butter on a fantastic nose, a great palate, and a nice long finish. Am I drunk? Yes. Is this still "my precious"? Absolutely! Sometimes the best reviews come after a few pours when the truth really comes out—and the truth is, Hudson has created something truly special here.
