Detransitioner Chloe Cole Reacts to Landmark Ruling on Transgender Surgeries for Minors

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons on Tuesday announced its opposition to carrying out breast removal and similar surgeries on those under 19 years of age. The announcement followed a first-of-its-kind jury verdict against medical professionals, in which a young woman was awarded $2 million for pain and suffering, and for future medical expenses. The landmark New York verdict held a surgeon and psychologist liable for malpractice. The pair had facilitated a double mastectomy for then-16-year-old Fox Varian, a young woman with gender dysphoria. Earlier this week, pediatric health care provider Children’s Minnesota announced it may stop certain gender transition procedures, including puberty blockers, for minors.
