How to propagate plants, free plants, how to propagate fritillary, bog plants, pond plants, marginal plants, how to harvest free seeds, plants, gardening, gardening tips, gardening advice, In this video I talk about Snake's Head Fritillaries and plant some by my wildlife pond. But there is more to it than that. There plants have just flower and are now producing seed heads. I want to gather the seeds and propagate the plants. Some fritillaries are effectively bog plants and others love hot very dry conditions so make sure you check which type you have before planting. Mine are Zone 1 bog plants, effectively aquatic plants. The can be planted into the margins of a pond or the boggy wetlands around the pond. They can be propagated by seeds and will naturalise into a lawn giving a nice display of flowers in the springtime, conveniently, before the grass needs cutting.
