It’s about time I share the second truck I caught some distance away from Sydney in the regional town of Cootamundra. I was there on a Friday morning to wrap up my 2017 road trip and was very pleased with the result, getting both of the council’s 25m GenV ACCO side loaders on video handling garbage, recycling and garden waste. A while ago I posted the 2013 model in action and this time we get to see the louder and meaner 2007 model. This older truck would have been completely replaced and sold off as per the regular fleet upgrades, however Cootamundra was on the verge of introducing a fortnightly green waste collection to its residents at the time, thus the existing side arm was retained to perform this service and act as a necessary spare vehicle. I was delighted to get this 2007 machine on camera, especially when they were beginning to really disappear across the country. Not exactly intense fast pace here, but steady flowing bin lifts which are still enjoyable to watch with that Cummins ISC noise. We predominantly see this truck emptying the green lidded 240Ls in this zone during sunrise, but right towards the end I also threw in a few clips of it collecting garbage on the next run. Also a bit of main street footage where the sound travelled and rear lane views where the sound was contained and amplified – made it a pleasure to be standing in front of this thing in person with that throttle advance going.
