Meet Sally, a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Anatolian Shepherd mix with a sensitive heart and so much potential. 🤍 Sally is an incredibly sweet girl—but she came to us very nervous and unsure of the world around her. She’s never really had clear expectations or structure, which left her feeling anxious and overwhelmed. That anxiety showed up in big ways: jumping fences, destructive chewing when left alone, getting extremely stressed when her family was gone, and being pretty mouthy when she didn’t know how to cope. Her family enrolled her in our 2-Week Board & Train program with Trainer Breanna here in Springfield, MO, and our main goal with Sally has been building confidence through structure. Throughout her training, Sally has been working on: • Clear, consistent obedience expectations • On and off-leash reliability • Place command to create calmness and stability • Proper leash manners and structured walking • Learning appropriate outlets instead of chewing or mouthing • Building confidence in new environments With nervous dogs like Sally, structure equals freedom. Once she understands what’s expected of her, she can finally relax. Instead of making anxious decisions like fence jumping or destructive behavior, she’s learning to look to her handler for guidance. The biggest transformation for Sally isn’t just obedience—it’s confidence. She’s learning that the world isn’t so scary when she has leadership and clarity. And underneath that anxiety is such a loving, loyal girl who just needed direction.
