That restoration began with an almost mandatory replacement of floorpans and cab corners. Once that new metal was married to authentic Dearborn steel, the truck's smooth fuselage was sealed in DuPont Razzlin' Red 2-stage. Beneath that drivetrain, a thoroughly rebuilt suspension employs power rack-and-pinion steering. Power front disc and rear drum brakes are a welcome addition and big performance upgrade for early Ford fans. There's an impressive dual exhaust system that employs an X-pipe crossover and dual-chamber Thrush mufflers. Everything rides on a set of 15-inch painted, pinstriped and trimmed wheels, which spin 235/70 Kelly Chargers in front of 255/70 Kelly Chargers. And items like stainless fluid lines, a powdercoated chassis and a big stainless fuel tank finish an otherwise impressive canvas. 1-part vintage and 1-part modern, this pickup's warm and welcoming interior looks straight out of an old school Hot Rod magazine. At the front of the cockpit, a stainless-trimmed, Razzlin' Red dash centers an Alpine CD player between modern air conditioning and clear Classic Instruments gauges.
