Today we're visiting the beach town if Port Stanley, located in Elgin County, southwestern Ontario. We go over some of the demographics, history, and more as we drive around this historical port town. Kettle Creek runs through the middle of Port Stanley creating the two-sides of the town we explore in this video. We start off entering from the north end along Main Street into the main town square where the area has been added to the Canadian Historical Places Register. We drive up to the beach and show some of the marinas along the route, with a stop downtown to talk about the historic plaque and the information about the town. We then continue our drive through Port Stanley, Ontario, crossing the King George VI lift bridge onto the west side of the town where we drive up towards the coastline and discuss the major ice storm that hit this town back in December 2022. We show off the houses, businesses, and some of the newer subdivisions in this growing Ontario town. Driving back up towards downtown, we take a northbound turn along the old London & Port Stanley Railway, now running as the Port Stanley Terminal Rail, this short local train line runs between Port Stanley and downtown St. Thomas during the summer, with special Santa service during November and December. We get to see some of the rolling stock as we drive by the yard in both directions. We then cross back over the lift bridge to talk about some of the other houses located in the town, followed by a drive up the mountain before wrapping up our video.
