Count sensors on rinsing machines, filling machines and other packaging equipment are used to ensure the correct number of bottles have entered the packaging area before a packaging cycle begins. Photo-eye count sensors will use some type of separation to read each bottle individually. If not properly adjusted, the sensor may read multiple bottles as one. Separation may be read by pointing the eye at bottle necks, by reading an indentation on a bottle, by angling the sensor or by using other methods.
