This is the first in a series of short videos detailing the use of MasterSeries: MasterFrame and MasterFrame Pro. In the MasterSeries ecosystem of analysis, design, drafting, and detailing modules, our 3d modelling environment MasterFrame, forms a key MasterSeries component. This video provides an introduction and overview of MasterFrame and MasterFrame Pro, which are key components of the MasterSeries ecosystem for structural analysis, design, drafting, and detailing. Key aspects covered include: • Accessing MasterFrame: It can be launched from the 'Programs' tab on the main menu, under 'integrated analysis and design'. • Starting a New Project: Users can begin by generating a system of grid lines, a floor grid, snap grid, or predefined structural elements like frames or trusses. The initial layout, including the number of bays, default values, and individual span values, can be easily altered, along with level grid spacing and skew. • MasterFrame Menu System Overview: The menus are designed to guide users through a full structural design from start to finish, moving from left to right. o File Menu: Manages projects (creating, opening, saving, project info, exiting). o Create Menu: For building new structures and elements (general members, columns, bracing, floor plate panels for loading, copying elements, adding frames/trusses). o Modify Geometry Menu: Allows editing existing structures (splitting, merging, deleting, moving members, editing FE surfaces, checking model integrity). o Viewing Menu: For manipulating and creating views of the structure, especially useful for large projects. o Properties Menu: Accesses the view member property editor to manage generic properties, section properties, end releases, and construction types for selected members. It also handles settings for FE surfaces, stiff decks, concrete global data, and steel section databases. o Loads Menu: Sets up load cases and combinations, adds member and nodal point loads, generates area loading via floor plate facilities, and applies automatic wind loading (MasterFrame Pro feature). It also covers FE surface loading, dynamic, and seismic loading. o Restraints Menu: Defines member connections (rigid or pinned) and nodal support conditions. o Analysis and Results Menu: Configures analysis settings, including second-order capabilities, global options, and FE surface meshing. Users can perform static or dynamic analysis to evaluate natural frequencies, response factors, and seismic analysis. Results are viewable graphically and in tabular format, showing member stresses and force diagrams. o Design Menu: Defines design codes and uses design groups for managing members for efficient automatic design. It provides access to various integrated design modules for steel, composite beam, steel connection, concrete (beam, column, pad, slab, wall, deflection/cracking), pile cap, and timber design. o BIM Exchange Menu: For structural output, including the MasterCard add-on for drawings, exporting to CAD formats (IFC), and sending/receiving models to Revit Structures and Tecla. It also links to MasterSeries LCA for environmental impact assessment. o Report Menu: Generates detailed reports of the model and provides print management for graphical and tabular output. MasterFrame Pro offers a detailed report generator for customisation. o Help Menu: Accesses the MasterSeries Learning Center (Vimeo channel for videos, written tutorials, manuals) and direct module-specific help (F1 key). Remote support sessions can also be initiated from here. The video highlights MasterFrame Pro features and MasterFrame Finite Element (FE) analysis as integrated components, indicated by '[Pro]' or '[FE surface]' suffixes in the menu. 📖 You can read more about Our MasterFrame topics via our blog here 📖 https://www.masterseries.com/blog/cat...
