The original McLaren was built for the MR Slotcar Challenge race, hosted by Electric Dreams in El Segundo in 2023. Overall, the build was super challenging with all the "quirks and features" of these cars, and while I didn't get the W in the race, I was proud of the work I put in to figure the cars out. The following year was going to be mine though - and it indeed was. I knew that I needed to start working on my 2024 car early, and I had ordered a Porsche white kit early on - and just fully committed to the Porsche 911 GT1. I spent several months slowly detailing the body and refining the chassis. I essentially used the same setup, but because the car is so much shorter, the car didn't have the same issues I had experienced the year before with the McLaren F1.
