1. Two forces of magnitude 12N and 8N are acting at a point. If the angle between the two forces is 60°. Use a suitable scale and head to tail rule to determine the magnitude and direction of the resultant force. 2. The following forces at a point (a) 30N inclined at 30° towards North to East. (b) 25N towards North. (c) 30N inclined at 45° towards North of West. (d) 35N inclined at 〖40〗^o towards South of West. Find the magnitude and direction of the resultant force, using a suitable scale and head to tail rule. 3. A force of 100N makes an angle of 60° with x-axis. Resolve this force into rectangular components. 4. The rectangular components of a force are: F_x=5N and F_y=12N. Calculate the magnitude and direction of the given force. 5. A force of 400N is exerted at right angle to a 25cm long spanner which is used to tighten the nuts of a car wheel. Calculate the resulting torque. 6. In the figure given below, the centre of gravity of hokey stick is at 60cm from the end A. To balance it at 40cm from A, a weight of 5N is hung at A. What is the weight of the hokey stick? 7. Two girls of masses 20kg and 24kg respectively sit on a see-saw 4.0m long balanced at the midpoint. The 20kg girls is 1.8m to the left of the balance point. How far from the balance point rest the other girl sit to keep the see-saw horizontal.
