Days Between - The Other One - Bird Song - 36:31 Genre: Rock Style: Psychedelic Rock, Prog Rock, Experimental This is one of the more exciting bands to emerge from out of nowhere this year. I originally found out about it through Discogs, because I am a fan of the drummer (and album cover designer), but I would be a liar if I said I had any idea who the other people on the record were, which is a fact I hope to change. Admittedly the premise of this demo was a little tough for me (not a huge fan of dead-adjacent “cover bands”), but to me this is something more. It sounds less like a band dedicated only to playing the music of the Grateful Dead and more like a group of extremely talented musicians (coming from a wild mix of jazz and country proficiencies) using the music of the Dead as a launchpad to test mutual musical compatibility. I find the results to be compelling beyond compare. As far as I know, they only have this rehearsal demo, which is also allegedly the first two times they played music as a group.
