Welcome to Suede-tember! Suede's 10th album came out on 05.09 and they've kicked off a series of small gigs, in-stores and their Southbank Centre takeover. This was the final show of Suede's Southbank Takeover - *sob*! I was so desperate for a better seat, to be near the front that, day of, I liaised with IO ticketing guru Graeme to secure a better seat as opposed to my originally bought rear stalls one. I needed to be in the heart of Suede's environment like always. I didn't expect Brett to call us up at all, given it was an orchestral-backed show, but later on, he did just that. OK, this song is Paraorchestra only. Suede walked off the stage and it took me a sec to recognise the song and thus to click 'record'. I didn't know if there'd be a section of Paraorchestra-only songs - there wasn't, but I'd love it if there'd been, or if there's such a show in the future. 'The Invisibles' - a beautiful reminder of the first single released ahead of Suede's masterful 'The Blue Hour' album. A gorgeous, bittersweet song. And so touching to hear it without words and with orchestral music only. It's just as powerful. And it's quite hypnotic to watch Charles Hazlewood's strong, muscular directing.
