Bonner Springs Water Treatment Plant Update - April 2024
The new Bonner Springs Water Treatment Plant has been under construction for a little over a year. The new plant will dramatically reduce the hardness of the water using nanofiltration (not salt) and will significantly improve the taste and smell of the water. We know this water plant has been a priority for the community for years and we are ready for the upgrade. Our current plant is decades past its prime and can't handle the capacity and treatment needed for our community. The City made the decision to build a new plant instead of buying water from another utility so we can be in control of the price of our water and the quality of our water. The new plant will be on-line in August of this year. Here's a video created by Burns & McDonnell to show you the progress we've made.
