The SC directed immediate release of at least 25% of the arrears by March 6 (or March 31 in some reports), and formed a high-level committee led by former Justice Indu Malhotra to calculate exact amounts and oversee the payment schedule. This ends years of delay since the Calcutta High Court 2022 order, giving big relief to employees who were getting only 18% DA compared to central employees' 55-60%.
