Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. If you are new here, my channel mostly consists of railroad videography from around the Northeastern USA. Please note that all content that I post is mine and should not be used without my consent. If you are interested in more content from me, my photography can be viewed on Instagram at: / rail_spike_productions About this video: In late September of 2024, MBTA’s recently rebuilt GP40MC-3 number 1129 entered revenue passenger service on the north side of the commuter rail system. Before being placed on a revenue set of equipment, 1129 operated on an Operation Lifesaver sponsored “Safety Train” for a public awareness event on the Fitchburg Line on September 21. This set featured MBTA’s two coaches wrapped with Operation Lifesaver liveries. I filmed this unique consist passing through Waltham, MA (first shot of the video). Several days later, 1129 made its first revenue trips on the north side operating on a set with control car 1809. This set only operated for a few days before being involved in a collision with a vehicle in Beverly, MA on September 26 (the 1129 did not make any impact or receive any damage). The equipment had to be rescued from Beverly after this incident, and the rescue process with GP40MC-3 1137 is featured in this video as well. All of my footage surrounding the incident on September 26 can be viewed in a separate video of mine: • The Aftermath of a Train vs. Car Collision... . The rest of my footage of the 1129 in September was filmed on the Newburyport/Rockport Line in the following locations (listed in the order that they appear in this video): Beverly Depot station, Hamilton/Wenham station, Beverly Depot station (footage from a separate day than the previous Beverly Depot clips), and Prides Crossing station. The last clip in this video is just an added bonus, relating back to the Operation Lifesaver Safety Train. It shows the same set of equipment (with the duo of wrapped MBTA coaches) departing Beverly Farms station, this time with a different locomotive and cab car compared to my previous sighting of the set featured at the beginning of this video.
