Dr. Besigye High-Court trial, Attorney General updates Parliament on the transfer of files
The deputy Attorney General Kafuzi Jackson has told Parliament that all files that were under court martial have been transferred to the DPP as directed by the Supreme Court. This is in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling disqualifying the court martial from trying civilians. The onus is now left with the DPP to sanction the respective files accordingly. Kafuzi’s statements sparked mixed reactions as some MPS have continued to object the procedure of implementation of the supreme court judgment.
