After a 8 year hiatus, Pop in Progress makes a return to celebrate Singapore's Popping dance community. We believe there's still so much room for us and the community to be inspired and rejuvenated in our local competitive landscape and we hope to bring back the good vibes, exchanges, cyphers and spirit of changing the game. We are also big on collaboration so in this special edition, we have partnered with NTU Soul Funky, Poppers Exchange and Hybrid Series to bring you a week of festival programmes. Judge: Slim Boogie (USA) Battle Guest: Paris Crossley (UK) We will bringing back a mix of formats that we activated at the previous Pop in Progress editions to challenge our participants in 2025. This includes, showcase auditions, cyphers, battles determined by our judge & jury and a call out final battle. Category: Hybrid Series Open Styles (Collaboration) An audition round will be held to choose the best 8 dancers, judged by Alif Aircho. Dancers will be judged in an open style format, without the Hybrid ruleset. 7-to-smoke finals will be judged by Slim Boogie where the various applications of Hybrid Series take effect. Exhibition Battle Singapore vs the World Representing Singapore: Farlina (Flavour), Joey (Pop), Josh (Intricacy) and Nic Ho (Flow) Performance by participants of Paris's Performance Intensive Paris will be presenting a work at Pop in Progress, showcased by the participants who have spent a 3-day training intensive with her. Pop in Progress is supported by The National Arts Council.
